Byblos Bank Armenia once again transforms financial communication into visual storytelling — this time through the timeless metaphor of chess.
Set within a striking, symbolic environment, the film draws a clear connection between the calculated precision of a chess match and the thoughtful decision-making behind fixing a deposit. It’s not about luck or chance. It’s about knowing when to move, when to wait, and how to think five steps ahead — in life as in finance.
The challenge was to take a static, intellectual game like chess and give it emotional weight — without dialogue, and in just 30 seconds. We leaned into atmosphere and detail. Every frame was designed to reflect intentionality: from the tilt of a piece to the shift of light as a move is made. The sound design follows suit — subtle, echoing the tension of high-stakes decision-making.
The set was custom-built to allow for precision camera work and depth. The environment is timeless and abstract, evoking a place of contemplation rather than a physical location — reinforcing that the message is psychological and universal, not limited to a single context.
The result is “One Step Closer to Victory,” a cinematic 30-second film that captures the quiet intensity and grace of a well-played chess match.
